Holi Special Recipe - Tangy Crunchy Golgappa

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Holi is the main religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus. It is known as the festival of colors. Actually it is a festival to welcome new crop. Roasted grains - Holare called Holaka in Sanskrit. That word holaca is called Holi in Hindi. It's a tale that Hiranyakashypu - the father of Prahlad was against Lord Vishnu. So, he never allow Prahlad  to pray Lord Vishnu. He tried to kill his own son with the help of his sister holica. But Prahlad was saved and holica died. On this occasion people light huge bonfires, which is called Holica Dahan. The next day of Holi is called Dhuleti. On this day people play with colors. On this day we don't eat cooked food whole day. Only dinner is taken after Holica Dahan. We have popcorn, dates, puffy rice etc.

Here it's a home made recipe for one innovative dry snack to fulfill hunger and kids demand. We are using some vegetables to add health in this recipe with tangy tomato ketch up and red chilli sauce. So enjoy the recipe of Tangy Crunchy Golgappa.

Ingredients to Make Holi Special Recipe - Tangy Crunchy Golgappa:

8 to 10 golgappas

1 cup roasted rice puffs
1/2 cup sev
1/4 cup masala bundi
1/4 cup crushed masala crispies
1 big onion finely chopped
1 small capsicum finely chopped
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1/4 cup grated beat root
1/4 cup tomato ketch up
2 table spoon red chilli sauce or chilli tomato ketch up

For garnishing: 

Sev
Pomegranate seeds
Chopped coriander
Chopped onion


Method to make Holi Special Recipe - Tangy Crunchy Golgappa:

  • Mix all ingredients of tangy crunchy golgappa excluding golgappas.
  • Make a small hole in golgappa and fill above material in it.
  • Place them in a serving plate and garnish with sev, pomegranate seeds, chopped coriander, chopped onion.
